Krishna explicitly details the 'Path of Light' (Devayana). He states: Those persons who are knowers of the Absolute (brahma-vido janāḥ), when they depart and pass away (prayātā) in the presence of fire (agniḥ), in the light (jyotir), during the auspicious daytime (ahaḥ), during the bright, waxing fortnight of the moon (śuklaḥ), and during the six months of the sun's northern course (ṣaṇ-māsā uttarāyaṇam)—departing under those specific conditions (tatra), they attain and go directly to the Supreme Brahman (brahma gacchanti).
