After describing the inescapable trap of the material cosmos, Krishna provides the ultimate, glorious escape route. He reveals: Yet, beyond and transcendental to that entire material unmanifest state (paras tasmāt tu avyaktāt), there exists another, entirely distinct and superior unmanifest nature and reality (bhāvo 'nyo 'vyakto). This distinct reality is ancient, primordial, and eternally permanent (sanātanaḥ). Even when absolutely all living beings and the entire material universe is utterly destroyed and annihilated (yaḥ sa sarveṣu bhūteṣu naśyatsu), that supreme realm is never destroyed, nor does it perish (na vinaśyati).
