Krishna delivers the ultimate payoff of the 'easy' path mentioned in Verse 14, while simultaneously giving a devastatingly brutal diagnosis of the material world. He states: Having finally reached and attained Me (mām upetya), those Great Souls (mahātmānaḥ) absolutely never again take rebirth (punar janma nāpnuvanti). Why? Because they have reached the ultimate, highest state of perfection (saṃsiddhiṃ paramāṃ gatāḥ). What are they escaping? Krishna explicitly labels the material world of rebirth as a place that is fundamentally an abode of misery and pain (duḥkhālayam) and completely temporary and fleeting (aśāśvatam).
