"Intelligent persons who are endeavoring for liberation from old age and death take refuge in Me in devotional service. They are actually Brahman because they entirely know everything about transcendental activities."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna defines the ultimate stakes of the human endeavor. He states: Those persons who actively strive and endeavor (yatanti ye) specifically for liberation and freedom from the terror of old age and death (jarā-maraṇa-mokṣāya), by taking ultimate refuge and shelter in Me (mām āśritya). Those specific individuals come to fully realize and know (te viduḥ) that Supreme Brahman (tad brahma), they completely know the true nature of the self/transcendental reality (kṛtsnam adhyātmaṃ), and they understand the entire, exhaustive mechanics of action and karma (karma cākhilam).
