Ch 7Verse 26
Adhyāya 7 Shloka 26

वेदाहं समतीतानि वर्तमानानि चार्जुन | भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन || २६ ||

vedāhaṃ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna | bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṃ tu veda na kaścana || 26 ||

"O Arjuna, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living entities; but Me no one knows."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna establishes His absolute omniscience by contrasting it with human ignorance. He declares: O Arjuna, I fully know and comprehend (vedāhaṃ) all things that have completely passed in the past (samatītāni), all things existing in the present (vartamānāni), and all things that will exist in the future (bhaviṣyāṇi ca). Furthermore, I know all living beings entirely (bhūtāni). But in stark contrast (tu), absolutely no one (na kaścana) truly knows Me (māṃ veda).
