Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna reveals a profound mechanism of divine non-interference. He states: Whosoever (yo yo) desires and seeks to worship (arcitum icchati) whichever specific celestial form, deity, or entity (yāṃ yāṃ tanuṃ) with sincere faith (śraddhayā)—I Myself actively make that person's specific faith (tasya tasya śraddhāṃ) steady, firm, and unflinching (acalāṃ vidadhāmy aham) in that very form (tām eva).
