दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया | मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते || १४ ||

daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī mama māyā duratyayā | mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṃ taranti te || 14 ||

"This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna identifies the exact nature of the trap from Verse 13, and provides the only operational escape code. He declares: This divine, supernatural energy of Mine (daivī hy eṣā mama māyā), which is composed of the three Gunas (guṇa-mayī), is practically insurmountable and incredibly difficult to overcome (duratyayā). But (te), for those specific people who completely surrender and take exclusive refuge in Me alone (mām eva ye prapadyante), they are able to easily cross over and transcend this terrifying illusion (māyām etāṃ taranti).
