Ch 6Verse 29
Adhyāya 6 Shloka 29

सर्वभूतस्थमात्मानं सर्वभूतानि चात्मनि | ईक्षते योगयुक्तात्मा सर्वत्र समदर्शन: || २९ ||

sarva-bhūta-stham ātmānaṃ sarva-bhūtāni cātmani | īkṣate yoga-yuktātmā sarvatra sama-darśanaḥ || 29 ||

"A true yogi observes Me in all beings and also sees every being in Me. Indeed, the self-realized person sees Me, the same Supreme Lord, everywhere."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna expands the internal, personal joy of the previous verse into a staggering, cosmic, holographic vision. He declares: The person whose soul is perfectly yoked and united with the Divine in Yoga (yoga-yuktātmā) possesses an absolute, equal, and unified vision everywhere they look (sarvatra sama-darśanaḥ). What exactly do they see? They clearly perceive and observe (īkṣate) their own Self abiding in all living beings (sarva-bhūta-stham ātmānaṃ), and simultaneously, they see all living beings abiding within their own Self (sarva-bhūtāni cātmani).
