Ch 6Verse 21
Adhyāya 6 Shloka 21

सुखमात्यन्तिकं यत्तद्बुद्धिग्राह्यमतीन्द्रियम् | वेत्ति यत्र न चैवायं स्थितश्चलति तत्त्वत: || २१ ||

sukham ātyantikaṃ yat tad buddhi-grāhyam atīndriyam | vetti yatra na caivāyaṃ sthitaś calati tattvataḥ || 21 ||

"In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realized through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna defines the exact nature of the joy experienced in Samadhi. In that state (yatra), the Yogi experiences a supreme, boundless, and infinite happiness (sukham ātyantikaṃ). This specific happiness is completely beyond the reach of the physical senses (atīndriyam); it can only be grasped and perceived by a pure, refined intellect (buddhi-grāhyam). Once a person perceives and knows this (vetti yat tad), they are firmly established (sthitaḥ) and absolutely never deviate or slip away (na caivāyaṃ calati) from the ultimate Truth (tattvataḥ).
