Adhyāya 5 Shloka 26

कामक्रोधवियुक्तानां यतीनां यतचेतसाम् | अभितो ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं वर्तते विदितात्मनाम् || २६ ||

kāma-krodha-viyuktānāṃ yatīnāṃ yata-cetasām | abhito brahma-nirvāṇaṃ vartate viditātmanām || 26 ||

"Those who are free from anger and all material desires, who are self-realized, self-disciplined and constantly endeavoring for perfection, are assured of liberation in the Supreme in the very near future."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna summarizes the imminent reward for those who have mastered their internal state. For those ascetics and strivers (yatīnāṃ) who are completely liberated and severed from lust and anger (kāma-krodha-viyuktānāṃ), whose minds are perfectly restrained and controlled (yata-cetasām), and who have fully known and realized the Self (viditātmanām)—for them, the supreme liberation of Brahman (brahma-nirvāṇaṃ) exists all around them, in the very near future and even in the present (abhito vartate).
