Ch 5Verse 19
Adhyāya 5 Shloka 19

इहैव तैर्जित: सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मन: | निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद् ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिता: || १९ ||

ihaiva tair jitaḥ sargo yeṣāṃ sāmye sthitaṃ manaḥ | nirdoṣaṃ hi samaṃ brahma tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ || 19 ||

"Those whose minds are established in sameness and equanimity have already conquered the conditions of birth and death. They are flawless like Brahman, and thus they are already situated in Brahman."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna reveals the staggering reward for achieving the 'Equal Vision' of Verse 18. He declares: Even right here in this very life (ihaiva), the entire creation and cycle of birth and death is completely conquered and defeated (jitaḥ sargo) by those whose minds are firmly established in absolute equanimity and sameness (yeṣāṃ sāmye sthitaṃ manaḥ). Why? Because the Supreme Absolute (Brahman) is flawless and perfectly equal to all (nirdoṣaṃ hi samaṃ brahma). Therefore (tasmād), because their minds share this flawless equality, they are already situated and resting in Brahman (brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ).
