ye tv etad abhyasūyanto nānutiṣṭhanti me matam | sarva-jñāna-vimūḍhāṃs tān viddhi naṣṭān acetasaḥ || 32 ||

"But those who, out of envy, disregard these teachings and do not follow them regularly are to be considered bereft of all knowledge, befooled, and ruined in their endeavors for perfection."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna states the dark corollary to Verse 31. 'Ye tu' (But those who), out of spite, envy, or cynical fault-finding (abhyasūyanto), actively disregard and do not practice (nānutiṣṭhanti) this teaching (me matam). Krishna does not hold back in His diagnosis: Know them (tān viddhi) to be utterly deluded in all aspects of knowledge (sarva-jñāna-vimūḍhāṃs), devoid of a proper mind or discrimination (acetasaḥ), and ultimately ruined or destroyed (naṣṭān).
