Ch 3Verse 15
Adhyāya 3 Shloka 15

कर्म ब्रह्मोद्भवं विद्धि ब्रह्माक्षरसमुद्भवम् | तस्मात्सर्वगतं ब्रह्म नित्यं यज्ञे प्रतिष्ठितम् || १५ ||

karma brahmodbhavaṃ viddhi brahmākṣara-samudbhavam | tasmāt sarva-gataṃ brahma nityaṃ yajñe pratiṣṭhitam || 15 ||

"Regulated activities are prescribed in the Vedas, and the Vedas are directly manifested from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Consequently the all-pervading Transcendence is eternally situated in acts of sacrifice."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna completes the map of the Cosmic Wheel started in Verse 14. He traces 'Karma' to its ultimate source. Know (viddhi) that prescribed action (karma) originates from the Vedas (brahmodbhavaṃ). And the Vedas manifest directly from the Imperishable Supreme (brahmākṣara-samudbhavam). Therefore (tasmāt), the all-pervading Supreme Reality (sarva-gataṃ brahma) is eternally situated or established (nityaṃ pratiṣṭhitam) in the act of Sacrifice (yajñe).
