Ch 18Verse 59
Adhyāya 18 Shloka 59

"If you do not act according to My direction and do not fight, then you will be falsely directed. By your nature, you will have to be engaged in warfare."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna calls out Arjuna's bluff. He says, 'If, taking shelter of your false ego (yad ahaṅkāram āśritya), you proudly think to yourself, "I shall not fight" (na yotsya iti manyase), your resolve is completely false and useless (mithyaiṣa vyavasāyas te). Why? Because your own inherent material nature (prakṛtis tvāṁ) will physically force you to engage in warfare anyway (niyokṣyati).'
