Ch 14Verse 26
Adhyāya 14 Shloka 26

मां च योऽव्यभिचारेण भक्तियोगेन सेवते | स गुणान्समतीत्यैतान्ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते || २६ ||

māṁ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa bhakti-yogena sevate | sa guṇān samatītyaitān brahma-bhūyāya kalpate || 26 ||

"One who engages in full devotional service, unfailing in all circumstances, at once transcends the modes of material nature and thus comes to the level of Brahman."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Arjuna's final question was, 'How does one transcend the modes?' Krishna delivers the definitive, mechanical answer. The method is singular: unswerving, unfailing devotional service unto the Supreme Lord (māṁ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa bhakti-yogena sevate). By this exact process, a person immediately cuts through the three ropes (guṇān samatītya) and is elevated to the pure spiritual platform (brahma-bhūyāya).
