Adhyāya 12 Shloka 4

सन्नियम्येन्द्रियग्रामं सर्वत्र समबुद्धयः | ते प्राप्नुवन्ति मामेव सर्वभूतहिते रताः || ४ ||

sanniyamyendriya-grāmaṃ sarvatra sama-buddhayaḥ | te prāpnuvanti mām eva sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ || 4 ||

"...by controlling the various senses and being equally disposed to everyone, such persons, engaged in the welfare of all, at last achieve Me."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Continuing the sentence from Verse 3, Krishna explains the rigorous method and final destination of the impersonalists. He says: By completely controlling and restraining all the groups of senses (sanniyamyendriya-grāmaṃ), maintaining an intellect that is perfectly equal and balanced toward everything everywhere (sarvatra sama-buddhayaḥ), and being deeply engaged in the welfare and benefit of all living beings (sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ)—such persons also ultimately attain and achieve Me alone (te prāpnuvanti mām eva).
