Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna now addresses the second group from Arjuna's question—the impersonalists. He says: But on the other hand (tu), those who fully worship and meditate upon (ye paryupāsate) that which is imperishable (akṣaram), indefinable (anirdeśyam), unmanifested and invisible to the senses (avyaktaṃ), all-pervading (sarvatra-gam), inconceivable to the mind (acintyaṃ), unchanging and situated at the summit (kūṭa-stham), entirely immovable (acalaṃ), and fixed/eternal (dhruvam)... (The sentence concludes in Verse 4).
