The narrative perspective returns to Sanjaya, describing the physical and emotional aftermath of the vision on Arjuna. Sanjaya says: Having heard and absorbed (etac chrutvā) these profound, terrifying words (vacanaṃ) spoken by the Supreme Lord, Kesava (keśavasya), the crowned warrior Arjuna (kirīṭī) stood there violently trembling and shaking (vepamānaḥ) with his hands tightly folded in reverence (kṛtāñjalir). Offering deep, physical obeisances by bowing down (namaskṛtvā), and being exceptionally terrified and overwhelmed with fear (bhīta-bhītaḥ), he bowed yet again (bhūya evāha praṇamya) and began to speak to Lord Krishna (kṛṣṇaṃ) in a faltering, choking, and highly emotional voice (sa-gadgadam).
