Arjuna switches to a second, more ominous analogy to describe the destruction of the warriors. He states: Just as (yathā) flying insects or moths (pataṅgā) rush with great, full speed (samṛddha-vegāḥ) into a blazing, intensely burning fire (pradīptaṃ jvalanaṃ) only to meet their absolute destruction (nāśāya viśanti), in that exact same way (tathaiva), all these multitudes of people and worlds (lokās) are rushing with immense speed (samṛddha-vegāḥ) straight into Your mouths (tavāpi vaktrāṇi) to their own ruin and annihilation (nāśāya viśanti).
