Arjuna notes the staggering spatial dimension of the form and its effect on the cosmos. He says: By You alone (tvayaikena), this entire intervening space between the earth and the heavens (dyāv ā-pṛthivyor idam antaraṃ hi) is completely pervaded and filled (vyāptaṃ), extending through absolutely all directions (diśaś ca sarvāḥ). O Great Soul (mahātman), upon seeing (dṛṣṭvā) this wondrously astonishing (adbhutaṃ) yet terrifying and fierce form of Yours (rūpam idaṃ tavograṃ), all the three planetary systems—upper, middle, and lower—are severely trembling and profoundly perturbed (loka-trayaṃ pravyathitaṃ).
