"You are without origin, middle or end. Your glory is unlimited. You have numberless arms, and the sun and moon are Your eyes. I see You with blazing fire coming forth from Your mouth, burning this entire universe by Your own radiance."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Arjuna describes the terrifying power and boundless scale of the form. He says: I see You totally without any beginning, middle, or end (anādi-madhyāntam). Your valor, power, and glory are absolutely infinite and unlimited (ananta-vīryam). You possess innumerable, endless arms (ananta-bāhuṃ), and the sun and the moon serve as Your two eyes (śaśi-sūrya-netram). I see You (paśyāmi tvāṃ) with blazing, catastrophic fire pouring forth from Your mouths (dīpta-hutāśa-vaktraṃ), heating and burning up this entire universe through Your own glaring, intense radiance (sva-tejasā viśvam idaṃ tapantam).
