Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Instead of continuing an endless list, Krishna provides Arjuna with the ultimate universal formula. He declares: Whatever existence or entity you see anywhere (yad yad sattvaṃ) that is endowed with opulence, excellence, or power (vibhūtimat), whatever is beautiful, prosperous, and glorious (śrīmad), or whatever is mighty, vibrant, and extraordinarily strong (ūrjitam eva vā)—you must understand and recognize absolutely (tat tad evāvagaccha tvaṃ) that all of it springs and originates (sambhavam) from merely a tiny fractional spark (aṃśa) of My infinite, blazing splendor (mama tejo).
