Ch 10Verse 39
Adhyāya 10 Shloka 39

यच्चापि सर्वभूतानां बीजं तदहमर्जुन | न तदस्ति विना यत्स्यान्मया भूतं चराचरम् || ३९ ||

yac cāpi sarva-bhūtānāṃ bījaṃ tad aham arjuna | na tad asti vinā yat syān mayā bhūtaṃ carācaram || 39 ||

"Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being—moving or nonmoving—that can exist without Me."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Approaching the conclusion of His opulences, Krishna offers a sweeping summary. He declares: Furthermore (yac cāpi), whatever is the original generating seed (bījaṃ) of all living entities and existences (sarva-bhūtānāṃ), I am exactly that (tad aham arjuna). He then makes an absolute, exclusionary statement: There simply does not exist (na tad asti) any entity or being (bhūtaṃ), whether moving/animate (cara) or non-moving/inanimate (acaram), that can possibly exist without Me (vinā yat syān mayā).
