sargāṇām ādir antaś ca madhyaṃ caivāham arjuna | adhyātma-vidyā vidyānāṃ vādaḥ pravadatām aham || 32 ||

"Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, O Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the self, and among logicians I am the conclusive truth."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna summarizes His relationship with all created things and forms of knowledge. He tells Arjuna: Of all material creations and manifestations (sargāṇām), I am the origin/beginning (ādi), the dissolution/end (antaś ca), and the very middle/maintenance (madhyaṃ caiva). Among all branches of education, sciences, and knowledge (vidyānāṃ), I am the supreme science of the soul and spirituality (adhyātma-vidyā). And among all types of arguments, debates, or logicians (pravadatām), I am 'vāda', the objective, conclusive truth (vādaḥ aham).
