Ch 10Verse 13
Adhyāya 10 Shloka 13

आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा | असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे || १३ ||

āhus tvām ṛṣayaḥ sarve devarṣir nāradas tathā | asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṃ caiva bravīṣi me || 13 ||

"All the great sages such as Narada, Asita, Devala and Vyasa confirm this truth about You, and now You Yourself are declaring it to me."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

To validate his profound declaration in verse 12, Arjuna grounds his realization in established authority. He says: All the great, authorized sages and seers (ṛṣayaḥ sarve) consistently declare and affirm (āhus) this exact truth about You (tvām). He specifically names the highest authorities in the Vedic universe: the sage among the demigods, Narada (devarṣir nāradas tathā), as well as the ancient seers Asita, Devala, and Vyasa (asito devalo vyāsaḥ). And finally, to complete the verification, You Yourself (svayaṃ caiva) are now personally declaring and confirming this truth directly to me (bravīṣi me).
