Narratively, the combined sound of the Pandava conches was so loud and coordinated that it caused literal physical and psychological terror among the Kauravas. While the Pandavas were not intimidated by the Kauravas' noise, the Kauravas were deeply shaken by the Pandavas' response. This establishes the superiority of moral force over mere physical numbers.
