Ch 1Verse 18
Adhyāya 1 Shloka 18

द्रुपदो द्रौपदेयाश्च सर्वशः पृथिवीपते | सौभद्रश्च महाबाहुः शङ्खान्दध्मुः पृथक्पृथक् || १८ ||

drupado draupadeyāś ca sarvaśaḥ pṛthivī-pate | saubhadraś ca mahā-bāhuḥ śaṅkhān dadhmuḥ pṛthak pṛthak || 18 ||

"O King (Dhritarashtra), Drupada, the sons of Draupadi, and the mighty-armed son of Subhadra (Abhimanyu), all blew their respective conch shells from all sides."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Historically, the Pandava side is now fully 'voiced.' Drupada (the elder king), the five sons of Draupadi (the future of the lineage), and Abhimanyu (the son of Arjuna and Subhadra) join in. By addressing Dhritarashtra as Pṛthivī-pate (Lord of the Earth), Sanjaya is subtly reminding the King that the very 'Earth' he thinks he owns is about to be shaken by this combined sound. It is a moment of total military readiness.
