Ch 3Verse 11
Adhyāya 3 Shloka 11

देवान्भावयतानेन ते देवा भावयन्तु व: | परस्परं भावयन्त: श्रेय: परमवाप्स्यथ || ११ ||

devān bhāvayatānena te devā bhāvayantu vaḥ | parasparaṃ bhāvayantaḥ śreyaḥ param avāpsyatha || 11 ||

"The demigods, being pleased by sacrifices, will also please you, and thus, by cooperation between men and demigods, prosperity will reign for all."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna explains the mechanics of the cosmic supply chain. By performing sacrifices (anena), humans nourish or please the cosmic administrators/demigods (devān bhāvayat). In return, these devas will nourish and bless humanity (te devā bhāvayantu vaḥ). Through this mutual, reciprocal nourishment (parasparaṃ bhāvayantaḥ), everyone will attain the highest prosperity and supreme good (śreyaḥ param avāpsyatha).
