"Wherever there is Kṛṣṇa, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

This is the final, concluding verse of the Bhagavad Gita. Sañjaya delivers his ultimate verdict to the blind King Dhṛtarāṣṭra (who was hoping his sons would win the war). Sañjaya destroys the King's hopes with a cosmic formula: Wherever there is Krishna, the Supreme Master of all Yoga/Mysticism (yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo), AND wherever there is Arjuna, the dynamic archer (yatra pārtho dhanur-dharaḥ), in that exact place (tatra), four things are absolutely guaranteed to exist (dhruvā): wealth/opulence (śrīr), complete victory (vijayo), extraordinary power (bhūtir), and flawless morality/justice (nītir). Sañjaya concludes: 'This is my firm opinion' (matir mama).
