Ch 15Verse 4
Adhyāya 15 Shloka 4

ततः पदं तत्परिमार्गितव्यं यस्मिन्गता न निवर्तन्ति भूयः | तमेव चाद्यं पुरुषं प्रपद्ये यतः प्रवृत्तिः प्रसृता पुराणी || ४ ||

tataḥ padaṁ tat parimārgitavyaṁ yasmin gatā na nivartanti bhūyaḥ | tam eva cādyaṁ puruṣaṁ prapadye yataḥ pravṛttiḥ prasṛtā purāṇī || 4 ||

"Thereafter, one must seek that place from which, having gone, one never returns, and there surrender to that Supreme Personality of Godhead from whom everything began and from whom the universal over-all has extended since time immemorial."

Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

After cutting the tree of illusion, Krishna gives the next step. One must desperately search (parimārgitavyaṁ) for the ultimate destination—the Supreme Person (ādyaṁ puruṣaṁ)—from whom this entire ancient manifestation (prasṛtā purāṇī) originally expanded. Once reaching that destination, the soul never returns (na nivartanti) to the material reflection.
