Krishna concludes his critique of those who misuse religion for material gain. He states the mechanical reason *why* they fail to achieve enlightenment: their minds are 'bhogaiśvarya-prasaktānāṃ' (deeply attached to enjoyment and power) and therefore 'apahṛta-cetasām' (their consciousness is hijacked or carried away). Because their mental energy is constantly scattered chasing these temporary highs, the 'vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ' (the resolute, one-pointed intellect required for liberation) simply cannot be established in 'Samādhi' (deep spiritual absorption).
