Historical Context

The Direct Meaning

Krishna delivers the grand conclusion of Chapter 13. He promises that whoever cultivates the 'eyes of knowledge' (jñāna-cakṣuṣā) to clearly perceive the immense difference (antaram) between the material field (kṣetra) and the conscious knower (kṣetrajña), and understands the process of liberating the living entity from material nature (bhūta-prakṛti-mokṣaṁ), successfully attains the Supreme destination (yānti te param).
